In fact, when I asked the sonographer if "everything was okay" she said "it's only the dating scan love, we'll know more about the baby at 20 weeks. It's alive and moving." Well, yes, I can see that... I wasn't expecting much detail, especially as I've opted for no Down's screening, but I thought that at least a "well, everything's what we would expect at this stage" would have been nice. So far at least four people have helpfully 'confirmed' my dates, even though I knew perfectly well from the start they were correct. ;) I have to say, while I have no quibble with the care I’m getting at the hospital I’m going to, no, I didn’t have two (or even one!) doctors present at my 12 week scan.
